"This was a period of time when the newspapers were often reporting on the 'boat people' who were escaping from Cambodia and Vietnam. 'Kluoch-psar' means sadness in Cambodian. I made a 'sculpture' (a tin can welded to a steel handle) which I leaned up against the wall painting. It was meant to help the boat people bail water from their sinking boats."
